Windy City

I’m sitting in the car on the way back from a very fun and successful trip to visit dealers in Wisconsin and Illinois.  Flipping through the radio stations, I’m getting a kick out of the talk radio station we’re currently listening to.  The person talking is flaming someone else, blaming them for everything that’s going on.  It reinforces my belief that the defining phrase for our current times is something along the line of “It’s not me, it’s you.”  It would be extremely refreshing for people to realize that differing opinions can actually have merit.  Enough about that…

Some of the many highlights of the trip include:

- Breakfast with Roscoe Village Bikes, meeting Buddy and having them sign on as our first dealer in Chicagoland.

- Spinach deep dish pizza at Edwardos

- Strawberry tarts, cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa at the Knight’s Court in St. Charles

- Get a Grip’s super-bright, green wall paint

- Getting a call on the road saying that North Central Cyclery in DeKalb saw on the blog that we were in the area and wanted us to stop by

- Being at Wisconsin Dells for lunch on Monday and having the kid behind the counter at Wendy’s say “I hope the dam doesn’t break, I don’t have a car to get out of here”.  …It broke a few hours later.

- Having the severe weather sirens going off while visiting with Cronometro.

Most of the rest of the summer for me is going to be spent at home in Minneapolis.  I don’t see any business trips coming up until the end of August, when PJ and I will head to Denmark, Holland, Switzerland and Germany for some distributor research and of course Eurobike.

PJ, on the other hand, is looking at getting out to the San Francisco bay area later this summer.

That’s all for now.
